Obituary

Cleotha was born to the late Wilma (Moses) Lewis and Charlie D. Lewis in Varnado, Louisiana, on March 12, 1927. He worked as a Laborer with several construction companies. Cleotha was a member of Labors' Int'l Union #689. He worked hard to provide for his family. He loved to hunt, fish and farm.Cleotha was the eldest of six born to the late Wilma and Charlie Lewis. They are the late Viola (Lewis) Cotton (late Truly), Clarissa (Lewis) Jefferson (Clarence), Mabel (Lewis) Harrington (JB), Lonnie Lewis (Helen), and Chester Lewis (Gwen).
He was baptized in his youth at Mt.Zion Baptist Church and remained a faithful member throughout his lifetime.
Cleotha married his beautiful wife, Minnie (Smith) Lewis on May 10, 1954, together they had a total of nine children and together they created and molded his family. They are Shirley (Lewis) Wicker, Attie (Smith) Dickerson, Esther (Smith) Trotter, Patricia (Lewis) Harris, Charlie D. Lewis II, Martena (Lewis) Williams (Leroy, Jr.), Cleo (Lewis) London (Rodney, Sr.) Sondria (Lewis) Brown and the late Havon Lewis.Cleotha had nicknames for everyone, think back to what he called you, this was his way of spreading his love. His grandchildren and great grandchildren knew it well (i.e. Jap, Drag, Cap, Red, Po Thang, Darkie). He has 27 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 3-7 Friday,September 21,2012 at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 22,2012,11a.m.at Mt. Zion Baptist Church,Rev,Dr. Alphonso Nelson,Officiating
