Charles Peterson was born March 19, 1940 to the late Edward Peterson and the late Lorena Bolton Peterson. He entered into his next life on January 9, 2013.Charles accepted christ at an early age and was reared in a christian home. Charles Peterson was married to Betty Richardson in Bogalusa, La. performed by the late Rev. Joseph Pitts. To this union two daughters were born: Eloise and Antoinette.
He worked as a Custodian at Central Memorial High School for many years. He later worked at Joe Miles before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, sports and eating delicious food. He showed love and kindness to everyone. He was soft spoken and enjoyed praising the Lord. He was a former Steward, Trustee, member of the Usher Board and attended Church School. He assisted the pastor with visitation to the hospital, members' home and churches. He worked as the custodian of the church for many years. His joy was when his cousin the late Rev. Louis Brown, Jr. gave him his title as "Chief Custodian".
He gave a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a kind heart and caring spirit. He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Eloise (William) Bennett and Antoinette (D'Andre) Phillips, a devoted sister, Annie Lee Magee, a half-brother, Leonard Laurent, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents the late Lorena and Edward Peterson, three sisters, Ora Fordham, Ida Mae Curtis, and Nellie Cameron.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
