Carol Jean Bolton Morgan left this world on Monday, March 31, 2014 with her family by her side. She was born on December 23, 1939 in Bogalusa to the late Joseph Bolton and Helen Brown Smith (Robert Smith, Jr.). She was the granddaughter of the late Teria Martin Brown, one of the foundeers of St. Paul AME Church.
She joined St. Paul AME Church at a very young age. During her early years, she was a member of the Sunday School, junior choir and the A.C.E. League. She later became a member and past president of the Senior Usher Board, member of the Pastor's aide, Missionary Society, se4rved on the Steward Board as Steward Pro-Temp, assisted on the Centennial Committee and Young People's Department.
She graduated from Central Memorial High, class of 1959 and attended Southern University. She was emplolyed by the Bogalusa School System for 30 years as a para-professional and a very active sponsor of the Delta Se4rvice Club.
She was preced in death by her parents, a step-mother, Myrtle Bolton, a step-sister, Bessie Smith Clark, and a brother, Lorance Dexter. She leaves to cherish, her loving husband of 39 yers, Joseph R. Morgan, Jr.; her children, Robin Wrice (Andre) of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeffrey Bolton (Beverlyh) of Covington, LA, Sonyia Riley (Benny) of New Orleans, LA, Gerald Morgan (Kenna) of Baton Rouge, LA and Helen Octavia Thomas (Duane) of Houston, TX, and two special sons, Erin Damon of Houston, TX, and Scottie Temple (Kelly) of Bogalusa. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, Bria and Keylia, Patrick and Lance, Benny, Kalaeb, Jazmen and Chyna, Imani and Keon, Dexter, Tira, and Jacob, Erin and Brooklyn; one great grandchild, Chanel; a mother-in-law, Lillie Morgan of Los Angels, CA; a stepsister, Mary Frances Hill of Roper, NC; a nephew like a brother, Robert Johnson (Alida); four god-children, Pastory Rodney Williams, Kevin Johnson, Yolanda Weary Magee and Reshita Keith; sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and a host of nephews, nieces, counsins and friends.
