Rev. Dr. Calvin Jackson Sr. departed this life, December 31, 2020 at 7:02 am at his home in Boliver, La. He was born November 8, 1956 to Deacon James Jackson and Vercy James Jackson. Pastor Calvin graduated from Chesbrough High School in 1974. He immediately enrolled at the Southern University of new Orleans. After a couple of years, he withdrew from SUNO due to financial Difficulties. As the years went by, he became even more regretful having started a great thing and not completing.
In 1999 he made up his mind and again enrolled at SUNO and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. In route to completing his bachelor's he attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, College of Sequoias in Visalia, CA, University of California at Fresno, and Southeastern University in Hammond.
In 2016 he attended Anderson Theological Seminary in Camilla GA and in A 2018 received a master's degree in Theology. The very next month in May he re-enrolled at Andersonville to start working on his Doctorate degree. Studying 12-14 hours a day he finished a two-year course in one year. In May 2019 he received his Doctorate degree in Theological Seminary in Newburg Indiana pursuing a PHD in Christian Apologetics.
He graduated with honors, Summa Cum Laude, 4.0 GPA in receiving his masters degree. He also graduated with honors, Summa Cum Laude, 4.0 GPA, in receiving his doctrine degree.
In 2001 of July he was called to Pastor Homeville Missionary Baptist Church, in Folsom, LA. Where he served as a devoted Pastor for 19 years. He was part of the Third District Association, where he served as the Recording Secretary under the direction of Rev Dr. Bobby R. Showers Sr. He was also part of St. Tammany Parish and Tangipahoa Parish Ministerial Alliances.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Norma Jackson, Two Aunts, Carolyn Parker, Eva Mae Burnette. Six children Calvin Jackson Jr. (Crinzina), Tyrone Jackson, Kenny Jackson, Anthony Harrell Jr., Antonio Harrell Sr., (Tara), and Alydia C.M. Harrell. Thirteen grandchildren, Cavin Jackson, Wil'Shaurd Jackson, Hakeen Jackson, Taveon Hall, Leeland Hughes, Landon Hughes, Janiyah Hughes, Akeriel Dawson, Aariel Collier, Aalayah collier, Antonio Harrell Jr., Charles Robertson III, and Ashton Robertson. Three brothers, James Jackson(Joyce), Raymond Jackson (Linda), and Rev. Lionell Jackson. Three sisters, Diane Charles, Cindy Rheams(Kenny), and Sandra Beauchamp. Three God-children, Lakeisha Brumfield-Channey, Jalen Brock, and Chase Harris, two cousins whom he thought of as his own children, Alfred Glenn Haynes and Chad Charles, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Maternal and Paternal grandparents.
