Billy Ray Causey was born in Washington Parish in 1961. He is the elder son of the late Arizona "Bill" Causey and Madora Conerly Causey of Franklinton, La.
He departed this life on June 11, 2013 in Paradis, La.
He graduated Franklinton High School in 1979. He was always a hardworker. As a high school student he worked throughout Franklinton with several different businesses. Not many years after graduating high school he started as employee of Brown and Root. He continued with Jacobs Industries for over 20 years. Billy worked in many different capacities as he eventually achieved a leardership role in the plant. Throughout the years he was instrumental in helping others acquire employment at the plant as well. He was diligent and dedicated throughout his career.
Billy was known as a servant throughout the community. He provided cookouts for politicians in the running as well as mothers day meals for his family. He was an excellent cook and loved to entertain his family and friends. He maintained a reputation of being "The life of the party". After completing a delicious meal he often stole the spotlight at any gathering with song and dance. His hospitality will NEVER be forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his father Arizona "Bill" Causey. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Terri Thomas Causey. One daughter, LaChante' (Christopher) Matthew of Bogalusa, La. and one son Damorrial ( Whitney) Causey of Gramercy, La. five step children Kim Thomas of Boutte, La., Keaundra, Katina (Jared) Hydell, and Kyla, all of Paradis, La. and Kanisha Paul of St. Rose, La.
His mother Madora Conerly Causey, brother Clifford (Krystal) Causey of Memphis, Tn. three sisters, Sharon (Donald) Briggs of Covington, La.; Trease Dawson of Memphis, Tn., and Mary (Demetrius) Wells of Baton Rouge, La. five grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren. His father and mother in law Curtis and Pheola Gullage of Boutte, La. and one man's best friend was added to the union; "OREO " Thomas Causey along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 20
11-2pm. At Cook Richmond of Franklinton.
6-7pm in Boutte, la. Funeral service starts at 7pm at mt airy baptist church. Elder John vaultz, Officiating 13635 old Spanish trail.
Friday, June 21 visitation from 9-11a.m. with the dismissal starting at 11 a.m. At St. John Temple Church of God in Christ in FranklInton, la.
Officiating Elder Esco Burton.
Interment Lear hill cemetery.
