Obituary

Augusteen Daniels Dobbins was born June 8, 1943 to the parents of Etta Mae and Earnest Daniels Sr.  In her early years the family resided in Gloster, MS.  She leaves behing 3 siblings Rose McClain, Ernest Daniles Jr. and Jimmy E. Smith.  She was preceded in death by older sister Vergie Huggins and older brother James Dewitt Havard. In 1960, she met and married the late Elvin B. Jones of Vallejo, CA.  Augie, as she was affectionaly referred to spent 35 years working at Contra Costa Regional Hospitral.  Most of her career there was spent as a nurse. She concluded her last years there as a X-Ray Technician.  Once retired, sh fulfilled her desire to return to her childhood home and be near more family and freinds, thus moving to Bogalusa, LA.  Once in Bogalusa, Ms. Augie immediately contined her passion of collecting Black Memorabilia.  She acquired a business license for Auntie Augie's Anteeks, which allowed her to place he collectibles in locations in Angie and Bogalusa, LA.  She also continued her asswociation with the Red Hat Society; joinrf yhr NAACP of Washington Parish, serving as Secretary; and sustained her quest for sobriety by maintaining her association with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).  This year she accomplished 26=7 years of sobriety, an achievement that she openly celebrated and was deeply proud of.

Ms. Augie was known for being upfront, giving straight talk, her great sense of humor and providing her honest opinion on any question directed her way.  She was inspired by assisting and supporting others; helping them to reach their fulll potenial.  Lastly, she was known as a tenacious fighter for just causes; an avid romance novel reader; a music lover; and her extraordinary generosity.  Ms. Augie was a Daddy's Girl.  "No matter where my Daddy went I wanted to go with him."  Her final desire was to be laid to rest near him.  Her request will be fulfilled.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories:  April R. Robers of Vallejo, CA. (children-Marcques and Joseph); Aaron (Jojo) Jones of Vallejo, CA; Eugenia (Gigi) Jones-Billie of Fairfield, CA (spouse Gregory-children Britgtani, Joi Briahnna-Augusteen, Andru, and Gregory II); Eugene (Doug) Jones I of Sacramentgo, CA. (spouse Hollie-children Eugena, Niara, Melisa, Eugene II, and Evan); Antionette L. Jones of Vallejo, CA (spouse Darold-children Darnesha and Bernice).  Great Grand children:  Mya, Marley, and Zaniah.  Extended family:  Billy Ray Foxworth of Gulfport, MA; Daisy Bell Alfred of Foxworth, MS, and Lemmie E. and Eva Daniels of Columbia, MS; and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins in this area, in CA and IL.  Special acknowledgment to nephew and friends to Ms. Augie:  Mr. Gary McClendon.

Visitation will be Friday, December 27, 2013 from 2-5p.m. at Cook-Richmond of Bogalusa. Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church 1 p.m. in Foxworth, Ms. Rev. R.T. McGowan, Officiating. Interment Little Rock Cemetery.
