AMOS "MOOCHIE" PETERS , SR.

Amos "Moochie" P eters passed away on July 28, 2022 , at h is residence in Varnado , Louisiana, at the age of 61 . H e was the 4 th child born to Mr . Willie B . Peters, Sr. and Mrs. Jessie Mae Newson Peters at the Washington St. Tammany Charity Hospital in Bogalusa, Louisiana on August 16, 1 9 60 .

Amos was a member of the Greater Center Baptist Church in Angie, Louisiana since childhood. He was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. Lin wood Bolton, Sr. and continued his membership until his death under the leadership of Pastor Sidney Jones.

He attended elementary school at the Wesley Ray High School in Angie, LA. In 1974-1975 the schools consolidated, and he attended Angie Jr. High School in his 8 th grade school year . He attended Varnado High School as a freshman in the 1 975-1976 school year and graduated with the awesome V arnado H igh S chool C lass of 1979.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Crissy Samantha Peters; his parents, Willie B. and Jessie Mae Newson Peters; and his maternal grandparents, Rev. Jesse Isadore (Lillie McFarland) Newson .

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted loving and caring wife, Odessa Foster Peters; and to honor his legacy three children; two sons, Brian K. Smith of Sandy Hook, Mississippi, Amos (Margie) Peters, Jr. of Sumrall, MS, and a daughter, Fredericka Lewis of Angie, LA; his bonus family, a daughter, Ursela (Dr. Dennis) Daniels of Woodbridge, VA, and a son, Ray Pack, Jr. of Varnado, LA; his siblings, Elder Robert Wayne (Annie Ruth) Peters, Willie B. (Kathy)Peters, Jr., his sister, Annie Pearl (Eugene) Allen all of Angie, LA. and his youngest brother, Drice Peters of Garland, Texas; twelve grandchildren, Lakeedra D. Smith, Empriss Baham, Kelton Peters, Alexander Peters, Rodney Holmes, Jr., Ra'Nhyia Lewis, Sa'Nhyi Lewis, Dennis Daniels, Jr., Christian Daniels, Laila Daniels, Raeghan Pack, and Elise Pack; a very special daughter-in-love, Elizabeth Owens Pack; his aunt, Margie Newson of Converse, Georgia; a devoted brother-in-law, Levon Harry, Sr. of Varnado, La; a special niece, Sylvia Nelson of Varnado, LA; a special great niece, Tede'Schi Allen of Angie, LA; a special great nephew, Brock Jackson of Hammond, LA; his very supportive sisters-in-law, the Foster Sisters; his best friend, Angel Lois (Rev. Nolan) Robinson of Varnado, LA, and his best friend, Will (Rozuanda) Youngblood of Angie, LA; his godson, Charles "CJ" Smoot, Jr. of Varnado, LA; his Varnado High School Class of 1979 classmates; and he is als o survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
