Sister Allah Mae Austin Johnson was born on January 13, 1920 in Tylertown, Mississippi. She wasthe daughter of the late Bro. James Samuel Austin and Sis. Eunice "Euna" Austin. She was called home into the glorious Kingdom of our Lord on Thursday, June 17, 2010.
Sister Johnson was the elventh child of twelve children. She and her family moved to Bogalusa, La. When she was 9 years old.
She was united in marriage to the late Jason Johnson, Sr. To this union was born four children. She also received her primary and secondary education in Bogalusa.
She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. Her family was united with Antioch Churc h of Christ Holiness in Bogalusa, La. When she was a child. She loved the Lord and her church members and family.She exhibited her faith by her commitment to her church. She was a member of the United Christian Women's Ministry and the Green Thumb Garden Club. She was also a member of the Jubilee Choir. Sister Johnson was the mother of the church and the oldest member of Antioch.
Sister Johnson was lovingly known by her brothers and sisters as "Smoot." She was known by Mother, Mother Dear, Granny and Aunt Allah Mae.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Jason Johnson, Jr., and James Samuel Johnson; two daughters, Sarah Johnson Morris of Bogalusa, La. And Betty Johnson Smith of New Orleans; one devoted son-in-law Larry Morris, Sr.; a devoted niece who was like a daughter Evelyn Causey Lee; 7 grandchildren: Jafus F. Smith of New Orelans Mgst Jerrell Ryant Williams of Washington, D.C., Spc. Jerrell Bernard Williams II (wife Christine), Dawn F. Smith of New Orleans, Cornelius Jason Johnson of Washington, D.C., Alexis M. Johnson of New Orleans, Larry Morris, Jr. of Bogalusa; six great-grand children: Dashawn and Dashayna Smith of New Orleans, Myles J. Williams of Washington, D.C., Sarai Williams of San Antonio, TX and David Conerly of Slidell, LA. She also leaves to cherish her memory a very dear friend, Freddie Mae Redd of New Orleans and a host of other cousins, family and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and sisters, her son-in-law Jafus Smith and 3 grandchildren.
