Sis. Ada Brown-Peters-Clayborne was born September 1, 1925 to the Late Bishop and Laura Henry Brown in Columbia, Ms. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, September 1, 2013 her birthday, surrounded by family and friends. She joined New Hope U.M. church of Hub, Ms. at an early age. After relocating to La., she united with the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. B.B. Moses, and continued under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. A.S. Nelson, until her death. She served faithfully as a member of the senior choir, senior mission, Sunday school prayer band, bible study and served wherever she was needed. She was also known for visiting the sick and shut-in in the community.She was united in marriage to Mr. Jesse Peters, to this union one son was born, Jesse Ray Peters. She later married Mr. James Clayborne, and became step-mother to his children.Sis. Clayborne was a hardworker, working in many capacities to care for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She was instrumental in the rearing of many children, and to her they were "All her special children."
She leaves to cherish her memories her one and only son, (her baby) Jesse Ray Peters (Sharon), 1 stepdaughter, Linda Clayborne, 3 step sons, Johnny Ray and Johnny Ree Weary of Varnado, La. and Billy Ray Clayborne of Mobile, Al. 5 granddaugther, Patricia Hardiman and Tameko Perkins of Akron, OH, Ada and Sameko Hardiman of Varnado, La. And Precious (Justin) Stallings of Baton Rouge, La., 7 grandsons, Elvin (Tina) Butler, Jesse and Ray Hardiman of Akron, OH., Eric (Twila) Butler of Okalahoma and Osric Hines and Micheal Hardiman of Varnado, La. also Leonard Lewis of Bogalusa, 40 great-grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.She leaves to cherish her beautiful life many special friends.
